Accomplishments
Funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Pallottine Foundation, and Other Financial Partners
We installed an asphalt art project at a busy intersection by the elementary school. The art serves to beautify and soften aggressive traffic during school drop-off and dismissal.

Events
The Alliance hosts multiple events throughout the year to create spaces of joy and celebration while connecting our neighbors with critical resources available to them at no cost. Click our upcoming events tab to find out more!
Project Shine
The Alliance helps identify, vet, and assist residents in the City’s housing rehabilitation initiative, Project Shine. It provides free exterior improvements for qualified homeowners to improve dilapidated housing stock. It also provides support for the project's hundreds of volunteers. See if you qualify by emailing us with the subject line “shine.”
Healthy Highlawn Walks
The Alliance is partnering with the KYOVA Interstate Planning Commission, the Pallottine Foundation, and the Huntington Foundation, to foster greater walkability for pedestrians in Highlawn. Through a series of events and infrastructure improvements we plan to eliminate pedestrian fatalities along major roadways and make Highlawn the premier neighborhood for commuting by foot and bike.
Highlawn Community Gardens
The Alliance is constructing a network of 8 types of gardens connected by a walking path. Purposes include produce, pollination, water retention, and food foraging. The first garden was constructed to allow families to safely cultivate healthy produce in an area known for nutritional deficiencies. The second network garden is being constructed on a lot formerly plagued by crime and vagrancy to grow produce for vulnerable residents.
